FireCat -15
I am a wandering pilgrim,
A self-excommunicated vagabond
I grabbed my coat and ran
Taking nothing but
The sunshine on my face
And the fire in my heart
For company.
I seek,
A lioness slipping through the reeds
Testing the water
Before the fire lights
And eyes spark,
Sides twitching in anticipation
The next ridge to run
Bridging the gap
Between soft, demure comfort
And a raging clawing inferno
Held within fragile bands of bone
And quivering flesh
Bound by limitless passion
and dark, hidden fire behind slit fingertips.
Senses alert to the wind
As it ruffles hair,
Stirring the spirit
To a seeker’s lust,
For the next moment of power.
