Runner Runner
I have never written about you
I keep you, as you were,
in the time I knew,
Knowing
as much as you allowed
I remember how
strong and panicky
how soft and broken
you were.
All at once
like broken glass stored in a steel box
and no one could find the key
not even me.
And now no one needs to
I love a memory,
a living ghost,
You are no longer who I know,
not even, perhaps,
who I knew.
And I am me
and I don't know
what that is
either.
